[] Acts 2:46 daily common meal? [] Ephesian 1:13a: incomplete sentence? Laurence,I didn’t see any response to this so I thought I’d come out of lurking for abrief moment. The preposition KATA can be used distributively of place ortime. KAQ hHMERAN would mean “day after day” or “daily”. Another exampleof this expression is in Matt 26:55 (KAQ hHMERAN IN TWi hIERWi EKAQEZOMHNDIDASKWN..).Also in verse 46 we see KAT OIKOV (“house after house”, or “from house tohouse”), which would be the distributive function with relation to place.I think the KAQ hHMERAN goes with the following participles to indicate thatthese things were happening on a daily basis. I take the “from house tohouse” to indicate not so much a formal meal, but informal fellowshipgatherings of believers in different homes. My $.02.Jim MurrayRacine, WI—– Original Message —–From: “Laurence Schell” <laurenceschell at yahoo.co.uk>To: < at lists.ibiblio.org>Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2003 4:55 PMSubject: [] Acts 2:46 daily common meal?> To the list members:> > Does kaq in Acts 2:46: kaq hmeran te proskarterountes omoqumadon en twierw, klwntes te kat oikon arton, metelambanon trofhs en agalliasei kaiafelothti kardias, refer to a daily meal? Fwd: Re: [] original Greek versus translation greek [] pronunciation survey Thanks for your response Jim. I did receive one otherresponse off-line.I was also interested in whether or not I am safe inassuming that metelambanon trofhs refers to a commonmeal that is more sustaining than the celebration ofthe Lord’s table. I guess I was not clear about thatquestion, judging also from the other response Ireceived.Sincerely, Laurence Schell __________________________________________________Yahoo!
