But why πόλεως and πόλει in the same line?τῆς Μήδων πόλεως
Μήδων is genitive plural, "city of the Medes." Not "Mede-city."
cf. Herodotus 1.128 ἐν τῷ ἄστεϊ τῶν Μήδων.
Γωζαν here might be Γάζακα "Gazaca" (Ganzak) where Strabo puts the βασίλειον-θερινός2 Kings 17:6
in Habor iuxta fluvium Gozan in civitatibus Medorum
1 Chronicles 5:26
in Alae et Abor et Ara et fluvium Gozan
and then rivers are Χαλαχ/Ἀράξης and Αβωρ/Γάδαρ.
Herodotus 1.128 uses ἄστυ which is also עזה/Γάζα.Strabo, Geography 11.13.4
"The royal summer palace is situated in a plain at Gazaca and their winter palace in a fortress called Vera"
