Sabbaths/Sabbath (σαββασιν) Lk 1:13 γεννησει hUION (σοι) ι hereby resubmit the fifth of the questions concerned with distinctivereadings of Codex Bezae in the text of Luke’s gospel.Lk 1:6 ησαν δε δικαιοι αμφωτεροι εναντιον του θεου (NA27/USB4); Codex Bezae(D05) has ενωπιον του θεου instead of εναντιον του θ(εο)υ.In this passage do εναντιον and ενωπιον with the genitive havesignificantly different nuances of meaning? Note too that in 1:8 thecorresponding notion is expressed by εναντι του θεου (in both NA27/USB4 andin Codex Bezae): does the presence of the deictic iota there intensify theexpression or not? (1:8 εγενετο δε εν TWi hIERATEUEIN αυτον … εναντι τουθεου …)– Carl ω.
