ἐκ ταμιείων ἐπέρχονται δῖναι ἀπὸ δὲ ἀκρωτηρίων ψῦχος
KJV Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
Vulgate ab interioribus egreditur tempestas et ab Arcturo frigus
The Brenton's translation is unusual, δῖναι is the plural of δίνη; whirlpool, eddy of a river and ταμιείων/ἀκρωτηρίων are not compass direction, but the Vulgate as Arcturo (Gk. Ἀρκτοῦρος) a bright star in the northern constellation of Bootes (Gk. Βοώτης)
Phoenician מן־החדר תבוא סופה וממזרים קרה
ἀπὸ Ὑδρᾶς "From Hydra"
ἀπὸ Κυνοσούρας "From Dog-tail"
I believe these are the correct readings since Κυνόσουρα was used as indicating the northern direction for the purposes of navigation by the Phoenicians (Φοινίκων) and Hydra is the southern constellation.
Would this be the reading?
Job 37:9
ἀπὸ Ὑδρᾶς βαίνουσα τυφών καὶ ἀπὸ Κυνοσούρας ψυχρόν
"From Hydra comes the typhoon and from Kynosoura the cold"
